It has been really busy times for SDJ both in our Glasgow office and on site supporting our clients.
The office has seen an expansion with more desks, more computers and more engineers. Over the last few months we’ve had many visits to client mobilisations where our engineering experience has ensured the vessels are off to sea as per schedule.

Subsea Hydraulic Power Unit delivered by SDJ for Wind Farm Project

SDJ has successfully delivered a Hydraulic Power Unit (HPU) to their client. The HPU will be mounted on a subsea template for use during an ongoing Wind Farm installation project.

Managing Director Sven Jupp commented, “SDJ was proud to utilise our experience and expertise in this field to deliver the Hydraulic Power Unit within the clients specifications and schedule for the Wind Farm project.”

SDJ will again be attending Subsea Expo at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre. Held over 3 days, this conference is dedicated to subsea operations and technologies and their various stakeholders.
This is a unique opportunity for SDJ to meet with existing clients, learn about innovative technologies and take part in discussions on the issues affecting the offshore and engineering industries. SDJ Design Engineering Ltd moves to Glasgow office

SDJ Design Engineering Ltd is proud to announce the opening of its office in Glasgow. SDJ has moved from Aberdeen and taken a unit in The Whisky Bond situated on the Glasgow canal. The new office is a significant milestone for SDJ and will allow the company to continue its commitment to providing engineering services to a range of clients while continuing to grow sustainably.

SDJ Delivers refurbished A-frame and supports the mobilisation

After successfully refurbishing a key clients A-frame SDJ Design Engineering supported the quayside build and eventual mobilisation of the A-Frame on to the vessel. This led to an extension of the workscope for SDJ to interface with the mobilisation team to coordinate the equipment and container positioning and sea fastening to the vessel deck. After a long week the mobilisation was completed on the 13th June 2015 with the vessel sailing later that day to start its salvage campaign. SDJ Design Engineering Ltd’s Director Sven Jupp said “It’s good to be able to offer a complete service from refurbishing the clients equipment to delivering it to the quayside and supporting the mobilisation activities.”

SDJ supports equipment commissioning

SDJ Design Engineering continues to build on its reputation of providing quality engineering to its clients as it is awarded a contract to support the commissioning of a new flex lay load out and RDS system on to Ocean Installers Normand Vision flex lay vessel by providing preliminary task lists and operational sketches. This award adds another client to SDJ’s client base and allows it further build its proven track record in the oil and gas industry.

SDJ secures engineering support contract for cable jointing spread

SDJ Design Engineering Ltd has been awarded a contract to support the mobilisation of a cable jointing spread on to a barge for a shallow water cable repair. SDJ used its extensive and valued experience in this area to provide engineering support to its client, allowing a cable jointing spread to be mobilised in a compressed timescale.

SDJ secures A-frame refurbishment project

SDJ Design Engineering Ltd has been awarded a contract to refurbish a 35Te SWL A-frame for one of its important clients. After a site visit in Norway to assess the A-frame, the decision was made by the client to purchase the A-frame and get it fully refurbished complete with a new deck grillage. SDJ Design Engineering Ltd’s Director Sven Jupp said “This is a good project for SDJ to win and builds on an established client relationship.”

SDJ Achieves ISO 9001: 2008

After implementing a Quality Management System, early in August 2014, SDJ Design Engineering Ltd moved forward by successfully obtaining a QMS audit by a UKAS registered third party. A number of projects had been successfully completed under the management system allowing the auditor to review the quality management systems when applied to live projects for important clients. The positive outcome forms part of SDJ’s commitment to monitoring and improving its quality systems to continue to provide the highest level of service to its clients. SDJ Design Engineering Ltd achieved its certificate of registration for ISO 9001: 2008 on the 25th February 2015.
